sand & spiders & sunsets

Had a photo shoot yesterday in Malibu. I've shot with the photographer before, so I knew I was in for a good time. He's amazing... We ended up on some dirt road in the middle of nowhere, then walking thru the woods to a small waterfall. Sounds pretty, right? Except for the fact that the water was black, cold, and spider infested. But I'll do anything to get a good shot... So I ended up trying to float on my back in this gross little pond. I lost my sandals. Had to walk back to my car without them. Looked kinda homeless.
The next location was fantastic. On a small semi-private beach on the other side of Malibu. There were beautiful rocks with bright green moss, and the tide was in. I ended up literally rolling in the sand to make it kind of a dirty shoot, and once in a while the waves would crash my party on the beach and almost drown me. True professional that I am, I held the pose, and my breath, and didn't drown once...
The sunset was breathtaking & cold. The magic hour, we call it. Absolutely worth it. Even if I'm freezing, covered in sand, and slightly grossed out by the "spider crawling on me" feeling I still had - It was all worth it to be there when the sun set.

bikini

I've been playing online a lot lately. Played a tournament yesterday. 4500 people played. I cashed, but not enough for my time. But this is how online poker goes. You have to get at least 1-3rd to make it worth the time/effort.
My weekend was crazy. Being back in LA after being gone for so long means I have to play catchup. Am trying to take it easy, but there are so many people to see...
Today I'm doing my usual workout in Santa Monica at the famous stairs. The best workout ever. Then to the spa, and hopefully a quiet evening. I have a shoot in Malibu tomorrow on the beach. I hope the water is warm. Am sure I'll end up in it by the end of the day. This happens when you wear a bikini for a living...
I think people think I wear my bikini all day every day. Every picture of me: bikini. Every job I do: bikini. Go to the grocery store: bikini. Drivers license photo: bikini.
I actually just wanted to use the word bikini a lot in this blog so I could name it "bikini". Selfish, I know.

recovering from my last job

I just spent 2 weeks in the south of France. On a yacht. So if you're a celebrity or a billionaire I probably just saw you over there. So, hello again! For everybody else - you just missed out. Maybe next year...
Seriously, this was the most amazing trip. I wanted to come home and blog about it, but it's too much to be put into words. It's just one of those things you have to live to understand.
I did, however, catch a nasty virus while in London on my way home. I spent my first two days back in LA in the hospital. I think I'm well now, except for the aftershock of the high fever. I have some discoloration on my hands and chest. Was brutal.
Fortunately I don't have much going on this week. I don't have to leave my home if I don't want to. So I probably won't.

my day off

Today is my first day off this week. I've been working like crazy to get my shows out before I leave the country. I'm working with some really great people. My cameraman Adam is the sweetest guy ever. We like to go to the shady places together & make fun of people. Not sure if everyone is able to go look at my recent shows, but some of them are really great. I have my favorites... Looks like I'm staying in Vegas until Tuesday afternoon. Can't wait to get back to LA. I haven't been home in 6 weeks. Have to pack my bags Wednesday for my flight on Thursday.
Looks like today may just be my only day off until Thursday. I hit the gym this morning, and ran a few girl errands today. Nothing too exciting. Worked on my tan lines a little bit, and now I'm running out the door for dinner. Finally I have a normal day. But I really can't complain. I'm having a great time with the show... And it looks like I'll be following the WPT circuit all over the country, and Europe, for the next year or so...

new tv show...

As most people in my life now know.. I recently got my own show on CardPlayer TV. They have given me the opportunity to let people in on what really happens behind the scenes in the small-but-big poker community. If you log onto cardplayer.com and go to the tv section you can see at least 5 of my recent shows, including the party at Steve Zolotow's house, and the shuffleboard tournament. Tomorrow night I am interviewing "Carrot Top" in his dressing room. Look for that show to air sometime around the 11th.
As for poker, everything is going really well here. My game is improving by the day, and I'm always making new friends in the poker room. Like this guy "Lee" from the Bronx. Threatened to hurt whoever knocked me out of the tournament two days ago... Sweet guy for offering, right?...
The World Series is coming to an end soon, but you will still be able to find me on CardPlayer TV afterwards. I'll be following the circuit. I will return from my next job in France at the end of July, and I'll pick up my poker career immediately thereafter.
I really do appreciate the feedback that some of you are offering. Some of you are a little cruel, but I enjoy it for the most part. Mostly because I'm assuming that you're drunk and mad when you write to me.
Ok, I'm kidding in that last line. I really do appreciate the support. I work hard to entertain, and it always feels good to know that people are out there watching and laughing along. All of you can email me at any time with suggestions or comments.
I'll be covering the rest of the main event for this week before I leave town. Am looking forward to some really great parties, and some really crazy interviews. Let me know what you think...

1500 no limit circus

The Rio is crazy today. I registered for the tournament last night so I wouldn't have to fight the lines today. CardPlayer sent my blogger over to meet me at my table. He was a total sweetheart named Tim. I think he's a psychiatrist turned poker blogger. Interesting...
I didn't recognize anyone at my table, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.. My game started off great. I won 3 big pots and had a comfortable round or two with no action. Suddenly I caught 2 medium hands and thought I wanted to play, but changed my mind after being re-raised both times. With the blinds and raises my stack suffered a little bit. Then I flopped top pair and thought better about calling seat 7 down any more because something just didn't seem quite right about it. I muck, he shows a full house. Lost a little bit on that hand, but saved some too.
Next I lost to a bigger flush. Shorter stack. Things started going down hill from there. On the break I only had about 1000 left so I could only muck or push. 1st hand back in I caught AJ & pushed. No callers. 2 hands later it was AK and I pushed again. No callers. Then came the AQ and some guy calls it with 66. Teach me how to win a coin toss & I'll stop telling my stories...
So I hit the hallway with a few thousand others just like me...

Golf, gambling, & nudity

We filmed a segment today at a golf course in Henderson, just out side of Vegas. Jon, K.C, Kirk and I went out to play 18 holes in the hell-like heat of this beautiful desert. Luckily I put some sunscreen on before we went out cause I would have had some ugly tan lines from those golf shorts and shoes.
I almost killed Jon, and then K.C. Neither was on purpose. Jon thought he could show me how to hit a driver by standing behind me with his hand on my back to control my movement. I followed through just enough to see the look of terror on his face. I didn't really hit him, but it was close. Turns out that playing golf with me is about as dangerous as eating anything from 7-11. Life insurance policy? Cancelled. Would have definitely left a mark... Kirk Morrison decided to pick me as his scrambles partner and suddenly my game improved. I felt confident and lucky at the same time.. A dangerous combination. If you watch the video on cardplayers website you can actually see the ball, after I smacked it, hit a rock and fly straight towards the guys' heads. In slow motion it's quite amazing, really. It went over the houses and into someone's pool. If Jon was standing 6 inches left he would have a golf ball imprint somewhere on his upper body..

lucky me

Day 1 of the 1500 No Limit Hold Em. I woke up ready to go, except for the 45 minutes it takes in front of the mirror... Except for that, I was ready to go. Had some coffee to perk me up, and I even wore my lucky necklace today. Not that I've ever worn this particular necklace before, and not that it's lucky...But I thought I would call it that and see how it went. It didn't work. So I blame my loss on that necklace. Stupid necklace.
After my loss, I went to watch the second day of the Pot Limit Omaha tournament. I don't actually play this game, but it's really a joy to watch. Especially when the 30 guys playing are some of the best in the world. I did have my particular favorite, and I think he should have won, but we don't always get what we want. Obviously.
From there I stopped in at the Bellagio for a drink with some other friends. One of them had just made the final table in the Stud event, so we had to celebrate. Had a fun dinner at Fix, then hit the Pai Gow table for a bit. If you aren't familiar with Pai Gow, you should get familiar quickly. It's the best way to waste some time between plans. I caught a once in a lifetime Pai Gow hand. None of the dealers or the floor men had ever seen it before. I caught AAAAKKK. The absolute best hand you can get. The bad news? I hadn't bet very much on the hand, so it was just for merit. And for them to take pictures of....

tourist hunting

Another night in the poker room. I started off at the Rio, home of the WSOP, but it was a complete circus. My cash game was good, but I ran into a few people who were making me uncomfortable, and by making me uncomfortable I really mean they should be locked away for not having any manners whatsoever. So I played until I was winner, then I magically appeared in the Venetian poker room for a bit. Finally I could relax. Tourists always ask me silly questions, and yeah they might get caught staring through what they think are dark sunglasses, but tourists don't have the stark fascination with a woman in the poker room like the "pros" who follow the circuit. Seems like the guys who are at every major poker event all have one thing in common. They've never seen a woman. I walk in and you'd think Racquel Welch turned 20 again and had that cavewoman outfit on. I would never compare myself to her, but I can imagine her walking into the poker room when she was 20, in that outfit, and that's the response she would get. So, I got comfortable in the Venetian poker room. The guy to my left was in Vegas with his mom for a few days, in from Oklahoma. He lives in the town next to my dad. Friendly conversation. I would say 7 out of the 10 people at the table were here on vacation. I can usually tell by their clothes, their speech, or the way they check out the cocktail waitress. These are all good things to watch for when hunting tourists. Lesson number two is always lie. When they ask if you're the girl from the Pizza Hut commercial, you should always give a shy glance down to the ground and whisper, "Yeah, but don't make a scene. Thanks." Lesson number three is to talk quietly so that everyone wants to know what you and seat 4 are talking about, but they just can't quite hear you. Then you look up and catch them, again, looking at you through what they think are dark enough sunglasses that you can't see their eyes. Next week: How to find darker sunglasses. Those are see-through...

Look at my chip stack, not my rack

Recently I've had many conversations at the tables about girls in the game. Do we really get preferential treatment? I think not. I might get a few hundred men trying to act like they aren't looking at my boobs, and they're really checking to see how many chips are in front of me... But as far as giving me a break at the table, it doesn't happen. My money looks just as good to them as the other guys at the table. Sure, some of the guys make more friendly conversation with me than anyone else, but they certainly do not hand their money over without a fight. Or a big check-raise. Most men = ego. That's a proven equation.
So far the games have been going my way. I'm happy to sit there for hours and grind it out to make a buck because I'm constantly learning. I enjoy seeing the regulars, and getting to know the different styles of play. I've been concentrating on playing more aggressively, and learning to lay down hands that could be beat.
When I'm not at the poker table I'm usually eating something. Maybe that's not the smartest past time in the world, but in Vegas the food is amazing. Lately I've been hanging out at the Venetian, and they have around 20 restaurants. I love the little bar menus just as much as the steakhouse full blown everything you could think of menus. Last night I happened upon a sweet little place that had the best bread I've had in six months, but the fish was nasty. So I ate more bread. I'm crafty like that.

6/13/07

Ahhhh, another day in paradise. Last night I hit up the Venetian again. Cash games were calling my name. The game was great. But there was one guy, to my left, who sat down at the same time as me and tried to run over the game. He was a nasty personality, and we became instant friends. I figure you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer. The game was supposed to be relatively small, but he insisted on raising every hand at least 12 times the big blind. I don't think anyone at the table appreciated it. He was wasting time with us waiting to get into the big game in the salon with Jamie Gold, Antonio, and the other guys. So this guy keeps making comments about how he wipes his a$$ with benjamins, and I kept telling him that that's gross and you shouldn't tell people that in public.  A lot of people will show a bluff now and then to get some action on future hands. But this guy didn't get that concept. He was bluffing every hand, and showing after the whole table would fold to him. But if you could catch a hand he would pay off big time. So I finally called him on my big blind when he raised it 6 times my blind. I had two 5's. Flop comes K K 5.  I flopped a full house against this donkey. So I bet into him and he called me all the way. The horseshoe fell out of my a$$ when the river came an 8 and he was holding K8, to make a bigger full house on the river. This made us even better friends. He left with my money, and stopped by later to tell me that he enjoyed our time together.

So, I played a little while longer, didn't see anything spectacular, and quit. I sat and watched another game for a bit and had a glass of wine to cool off, then called it a night. Today I'm considering getting back on the horse. Not literally. I'm thinking about hitting the Wynn later. Haven't been there yet this trip, but I hear there are some great games.

Until then I'm going to relax by my pool, and try not to think about my 55 vs. K8. I'm not one to dwell on bad beats, but sometimes I replay the hands in my mind to wonder what I could have done differently.

--------------------------------------------------------

6/11/07

I'm trying really hard not to tell too many bad beat stories, but when you're here playing poker every day it's hard not to. Thankfully, last night I got to witness someone else who was having a worse time than me.

Of course yesterday I played the Ladies Event here at the WSOP, and didn't do very well. Actually, it sucked. It wasn't just kinda bad, it was horrible. I got really unlucky. And if you play this game, you know it's all about luck. I was at a table with 9 women who were all over 40. Most over 50. So they hated me immediately when I walked up. But then they heard my last name and I became their goddess because they thought I was Steve's daughter. Or secret love child. Either one would do for them. They worshiped me. But I also think they had a bounty on my head, because they went up against me every chance they could. Needless to say, I fell victim to the old ladies, and they got to go home and tell their grandkids that they beat Steve McQueen's daughters ass at the poker table...

Last night I played a cash game at the Venetian, and I have to say that I'm in love with that poker room. It's clean, and roomy, and busy. The game was really juicy, and I made some of my buy in money back from yesterday. The kid to my right had been obviously drinking beer all day, and I think he had been sick on himself by the way he smelled. Gross. But I guess if you're gonna sit at a poker table you should expect it. He took some of the worst beats I've seen in a long time. Made me feel better about my day. I saw a lot of familiar faces at the Venetian, unexpectedly, guess I didn't know it was the place to be. Normally the regulars play at Bellagio or Rio, so it was a nice surprise.

Today I'm taking it easy. Gonna play some cash later. But my next tournament isn't until Saturday. It's a 1500 no limit event. Am looking forward to it. My luck has to change sometime, hopefully sooner than later...

--------------------------------------------------------

6/7/07

I'm in Vegas right now at the World Series of Poker. I guess if you're not a poker fan that doesn't mean much to you, but if you are a player then you know just how exciting that is! I've been here since last Saturday, the 2nd, and time is flying. So far I've played a few events and done well overall. I played one daily tournament at the Venetian, and one WSOP event at the Rio. Other than that I've been playing a lot online to make up for my buyins, and a few single table satellites here and there. It's amazing how many people there are here. And they're all just throwing their money around trying to be the next big winner. I can't make fun of them because I'm in the same crowd. I know a million people here, so every time I walk into the poker room at the Rio it's like a big reunion. It's a small community and everyone knows everyone. Of course all of the pro's are here, and there are always crowds around their tables.

I have to fly back to LA Saturday for a meeting with a producer, then I'm flying back to Vegas that night to prepare for my Sunday tournament. I really don't enjoy playing the Ladies events as much, but everyone is telling me that I should. For some reason I just enjoy playing the men. They're  easier to read, and the women seem to love to chat at the table too much.

I've been staying in a big house here in Vegas with about 6 or 7 guys. They all pretty much play poker for a living, so I get 24/7 poker every day. It's great for my game, they give me advice, and every night when I come home they ask questions about my play that day to see where I need to improve. So far I'm not tired of being here, and I'm taking it slow. There are 2 tournaments every day so you really have to pace yourself or you'll get burnt out, or go broke.

Today I'm going for a run, then a swim, then I'll play this evening. Maybe just a satellite to win my entry into my next tournament.

You can see a photo of me playing the No-Limit Hold 'Em $1000 Rebuy tournament last Tuesday on www.pokernews.com under the WSOP events/pictures.

5/31/07

I finally made it home from Texas. 3 days late. It’s a good thing I didn’t have anything going on in LA for the past few days. All flights were cancelled out of Dallas and I couldn’t get home. Ok, so I didn’t really try too hard to get out of there, but I did go to the airport 3 times. Got to see my friends for a few extra days, so I don’t mind too much. I’m exhausted now and I still have to unpack my bags and repack them again. I leave tomorrow for Vegas. I’m playing the no-limit event Saturday, and I have to go register for it tomorrow. I really want to play online a little, but I just don’t have the energy. I’ll have a lot of poker coming up in the next 1 ½ months, so not playing tonight doesn’t bother me too much.

--------------------------------------------------------

5/28/07

My friend got married yesterday. I’m in Texas. I’ve been here for a few days. Am having a great time. Most of my friends here play poker, so we have a good time. They are all really great. I’ll see most of them in Vegas next week for the World Series. You can tell that they are all getting pretty excited now. The first event is Saturday, and I think most of us will play it.

I’ve been here long enough to feel the pain from the late nights by now. I fly home tomorrow, and I’m not looking forward to the flight. I hate flying commercial. I hate the seats, and the germs. But I think everyone does. Will be worth it to be home.

Am going to a sweet little Texas bar tonight with my guys. Not quite the same as the LA crowd, but I love it here. It’s so real and sincere, people just having a good time and living their lives like normal people. Normal drunk people tonight, I’m sure.

5/23/07

Am preparing to leave town in two days. Not that I have a lot to prepare for. My schedule here is very flexible. Today I hit the stairs again for my workout, made a few phone calls, and played more online poker. Overall it was a productive day. Some days I can’t believe how fortunate I am. My life is really great. I get to do what I love, and I make time for my fun hobbies on the side. Speaking of hobbies, it’s been a long time since I’ve gone for a flight… I used to always go rent a plane and fly around just to get off the ground for a while. No phone, nobody can find me, I don’t have to think about anything but the weather and making a good landing. But seems like lately I haven’t made time for that. Maybe soon.

I watched some poker on television tonight. It’s funny when you’re a player and you watch some of that crap. It’s a little too cheesy for me. They say some goofy stuff, and I don’t like a lot of the players that they praise. I guess everyone has their own opinion, and mine just differs from the theirs.

--------------------------------------------------------

5/21/07

More auditions today. I love this city. The people are all insane. Either that or I’m insane and nobody can figure me out… The director I auditioned for was really sweet, but I think it had been a long day by the time I got there because he could barely keep up with our conversation. The part wasn’t really something I would usually go out for, but I like to spice things up now and then. I am a realist, however, and I know there is probably another girl out there more suited than I am for this part… It’s all about who you know, and every audition I go out on is potentially a networking dream. Even if they hate me for the part they’re casting, I can usually charm them into loving me for the next thing.

I left the building in Hollywood and went to my agents office for a meeting. They are trying to get me in on another big project, and I just want to be sure it all goes along correctly. I’m fortunate to have a really capable agency, and my 2 guys there are very good.

--------------------------------------------------------

5/20/07

I rode my bike to get some breakfast today. I have the most adorable pink beach cruiser, and it’s really perfect for putting around my neighborhood. There is a coffee shop just a few blocks away, so I enjoy the simplicity of taking my bike. In the mornings the air is clean and cool so the rest of the day follows suit and feels peaceful. After that I went to visit some friends in one of the beach cities. We rode our bikes along the bike path by the ocean and enjoyed watching the people for about 6 or 7 miles…. Lunch was fantastic, but I’m sure I broke my calorie limit by a lot. I never go crazy about my diet, but I always try to be a little careful. Not today. Didn’t even try a little bit. I work out every day so my body doesn’t punish me when I overdo it. By the end of the day I was exhausted, and just wanted to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day…

--------------------------------------------------------

5/18/07

Had a photo shoot today. Not anything too exciting, but I guess I have to work sometime. I always hate it when the makeup artist doesn’t make me look like me. She really put too much on. Everything else went well though. Was mostly bikinis, and the weather was nice, so I actually enjoyed the work. I never know what to expect until I show up at the shoot. My agent usually sets everything up for me. Am exhausted now, I need hot tea and a book on my couch…

--------------------------------------------------------

5/17/07

I hit the stairs again today. People actually take their dogs. Why would you want to make your little dogs run up and down the stairs with you and twenty other people?… It’s bad enough to dodge the people, but now you’ve got to run around puppies… And the women with perfume on should shower before they exercise in public. The weather was fantastic, and my workout was satisfying. I spent the rest of the afternoon playing poker online. Had a productive day today. Lots of donkeys in the game. Seems like they’ll call you down with anything. Am looking forward to the World Series coming up. It’s all I hear about in my circle of friends. Everyone is preparing. I’ll be staying in a big house with a bunch of guys. Doesn’t get much more fun than that. I’ve been practicing my cooking skills so they aren’t completely miserable… Gotta go now, am playing an online tournament this evening.

--------------------------------------------------------

5/15/07

Just playing online today. Not much action. Took a break to go workout. I found my new addiction.

There are these famous stairs in Santa Monica that I’ve been reading about online. Today I went to see what all the fuss was about, and now I get it. It’s just stairs going from the bottom of the canyon to the top in a nice residential neighborhood. Loads of locals go there for their cardio, and more… I personally love the wooden stairs but I guess the cement stairs down the street are nice as well. I run up the wooden stairs, run down the street to the cement stairs, run down to the bottom of the canyon, run up the street to the wooden stairs, then do the whole thing over and over…. I think a lot of people go the for social reasons also. The men are always chatty, and the smart women have ipods on. J People do their crunches and pull-ups right there like it’s an outdoor gym. I must say it’s a fantastic workout though. If you can tolerate the crowd, and the slow people, it great. I just wish people would stop singing out loud, whistling, counting out loud, and stopping right in front of me. Other than those things I’m easy to get along with.

--------------------------------------------------------

5/13/07

Today is Mothers Day! I miss my mom. We’re close. Not close like when it’s annoyingly close ( I know a lot of women like that) I’m not dependant on her… But I really like her as a person. If she wasn’t my mom, I would want to be friends with her. She’s stubborn like me, and really genuinely sweet. She’s very southern, and slightly unconventional… Free spirit, like her only daughter.

So, I called her to say hello. Short and sweet. I appreciate her every day, not just today. I’m not really big on holidays all together. I love the Christmas holidays, but mostly because of how much everyone else is enjoying themselves. It’s a happy time. Can’t wait for December now. And I love my birthday. Some women hate aging, but it’s not bothering me too much. I think that the older I get the better I look and feel. Sounds cheesy, but it’s true. I look better at 24 than I did at 18. Maturity looks good on me. I think a lot of other girls rely on their immaturity and innocence to look good. Like the young damsel thing. I just don’t quite fit that mold… Anyways, happy Mothers Day.

--------------------------------------------------------

5/10/07

I really want a puppy. I know it would be insane for me to get one at this point, but I really want one. I want a Doberman. Or two. Males. I sure would feel safe around town if I had two big dogs with me all the time. The last man I dated had a dog, and I used to take him with me everywhere. He loved going to Starbucks with me in the mornings, and sometimes I would work out with him. Too bad the man attached to the dog was a terrible human. Poor dog. I guess the crazy man treated the dog nicely, but I wish there was a way to give the dog a human who deserves good company.

It’s like a woman who decides that she wants a baby. Everywhere she goes she sees babies. And pregnant women. It’s surely torture for them. I know the feeling. (I don’t want kids…) Everywhere I go people have dogs. And not just regular dogs, the dogs I want. One guy at the beach had the most beautiful Great Dane today. They were playing in the sand together, and it made me sad because I have to play in the sand all alone….

--------------------------------------------------------

5/7/07

Today is a beautiful day, so I’ve decided to spend it outside. At the ocean, of course. I ran on the shore line, then did my regular workout on the sand. There are a lot of people out today! Who (other than me) goes to the ocean on a Monday afternoon? Don’t these people have to work? As I was leaving the beach a scary man tried to get me to open my car window. People around here scare me sometimes. Not the first time I’ve been in that situation. A few weeks ago downtown a man tried to make me think he worked at the gas station I had pulled up to. He wanted me to hand him my money (like he was really gonna pump my gas..)

But I yelled at him to go away, and sure enough, he was just some crazy homeless man. I don’t mind giving them money and helping them out here and there, but it’s scary when they become desperate enough to start tricking girls at gas stations.

So, the man at the ocean who came to my car window started screaming at me when I wouldn’t roll my window down. I drove off, but had a creepy feeling for a while. This is my usual hangout during the day, and I’m pretty much always alone… Now I see why mom worries about me sometimes. Hope she doesn’t read this.

My friends birthday is today. Looks like we’re going out tonight! I rarely see the nightlife here, I’m kind of a homebody. So today I’m just taking it easy, not eating too much (cause I know I’ll completely overdo it tonight) and taking my time getting myself ready.

We went to Ago in Beverly Hills, had a few drinks and, as planned, I ate way too much. I had about 4 glasses of wine, so I was more than ready to hit the after party at my friends home. Everyone met there, and first thing they asked me to open another bottle of wine. Red. Did I mention that I was wearing a beautiful white sweater dress?…. Someone pushed the cork into the bottle before I could get to the kitchen so when I tried to fix it I ended up with red spots all over myself. Not just a little bit. Equivalent to about half a glass. Oops. But I acted as though nothing had happened and partied anyways. Had a nice night, great food, dancing, entertaining friends…. What more could I want? Other than some soda water for my dress……

Auditions, auditions, auditions!! These people have me running around this town like crazy! Fortunately I know my way around pretty well, so I don’t get lost too often. Seems like all of my appointments are always on opposite sides of town. And traffic in LA is everything people say it is. I’m from a small town, we had one stop light, and I could be from one side of town to the other in 5 minutes. So LA is kind of a culture shock for me. I’m always surprised at how bad the drivers are here…

This evening I think I’ll have some sushi. Yummy. After a long day that’s the best way to relax and enjoy the cool California evening. Sushi and Sake…

5/2/07

Last night was wonderful!! My food actually turned out good, and the people were really sweet. I’ll definitely do that again!! (and I’ll be sure to take more wine, that was a great idea!)

So today I’m just working out, and playing online some more. I think later this afternoon I have an audition or two, but nothing too big. These days are so great! Someday I’m going to look back on my life now and be really jealous!

Oh! And today was the first time in a long time that I’ve put a really bad beat on another player online!! I shouldn’t be so excited about that, but the role is always reversed and it’s nice to be on the winning side of it! I flopped a top set and some guy at the table flopped a lower set. He didn’t have as much money in front of him as I would have liked… But I’ll take what he’s got…..

--------------------------------------------------------

5/1/07

I have many skills. Like keeping a clean house, rollerblading, and I have a partial photographic memory… Ok, some of them are acquired skills.. One skill that I’ve always lacked is the skill to cook. I’m notoriously horrible in the kitchen, my mom forbids me to light her stove, and everything I try to make becomes a disaster. So tonight I’m taking a cooking class! Should be fun!! It’s an Italian cooking class so we’re making some Italian food, and for desert - Tiramisu! My favorite!! I’m taking my own bottle of wine with me, just in case they are short on the alcohol…

--------------------------------------------------------

4/30/07

Relaxation!! I’m crazy for the beach, but today I’m crazy for my couch. I can’t move. I have a fantastic tan, and I don’t even want to leave my house to show it off! Instead I’m playing online poker. It’s going really well. I find that when I step away from the game for a while I return a better player. I’m more patient…

So, this is it for today. I’m in my PJs, playing on Full Tilt, eating chocolate. It’s heaven…

Melissa and I went to the Atlantis for the first part of the day to relax before our long flight back to LA. We hung out by the pool, stopped in to meet some of the FHM people there for a shoot… It’s such a small world! I actually knew the guy from FHM who was there casting girls for the magazine.

We grabbed some lunch, and a few drinks, and went to the main lobby to meet our driver at 3:30. He was late, but we couldn’t take a different cab because he also had our luggage. So we waited knowing that it was very likely that we would miss our flight home. It takes a whole lot to upset me, and this guy found out how to do just that. When he finally arrived we had about 1 hour before our flight left, and we were still 30 minutes from the airport. Needless to say, we made it… But I had to do some heavy flirting with the Italian man in the front of the customs line, and Melissa didn’t get that opportunity. I thought she would miss the flight, but somehow she ran on board just before they were closing the gate.

I hate stress. Situations like this are so easily avoided! Our driver was totally irresponsible and that upsets me…. Anyways, we made it home safely. I think LA missed me.

4/27/07

It’s Friday! We’ve been here for only about 5 days, but it feels like forever. I’ve made arrangements to fly back to LA a few days early. My work is almost done here, and I’m anxious to get back home. Today we finished up most of what we’ve started. Had another photo shoot on the beach. Sand is sexy! We had fun, I loved the photographer, and by the time night fell I just wanted my bed. Tomorrow is going to be a long day!

Dinner was fantastic tonight. Peter flew the chefs from Nobu in Miami out to make dinner for us. I love sushi, so it was like heaven for me. We had a few drinks, and some great conversation, then I went to bed content that I would have plenty of time in the morning to pack my bags before we had to leave.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/25/07

We’ve finally started shooting. My new friend and I have been spending our free time together. She is really fun. I would probably be bored here if not for her. This afternoon we decided to take two of the kayaks out into the water. I love water, and any kind of boats, and the weather is absolutely perfect. Was a little bit windy so we had to fight to get away from the land, but we’re both strong. We kayaked out to two big yachts in the water, then turned around and headed back for the island. By the time we finished I was worn out. Melissa wanted to stop and get onto the huge trampoline in the water, so I offered to hold her kayak. And that was my first mistake. You can’t be in a boat and hold another one at the same time. I floated out into the ocean and Mel had to swim out to get me. Maybe too many drinks before boating isn’t such a great idea. For the rest of the day we just did our work and by dinner time we were exhausted.

My shower is outside on the balcony. Over the water. Nobody can really see me showering, unless if they just happen to be walking in the right place. Dinner every night is set up perfectly, and the food is always amazing. Melissa and I decided during dinner that we should go see the Atlantis, and the driver for Naygard Cay just happened to stop in to see everyone. He told us that he would take us into town when we finished eating. Two other girls and our photographer decided to join us. The more the merrier. The drive was only about ½ hour. The Atlantis was beautiful, and we stopped in at the new club for a while also. Fortunately Melissa and I had our two body guards (driver and photographer) because people were bothering us on the dance floor. So we decided it would be a good idea to dance on the stage. Almost started a riot. Did I mention she’s really hot?…. The night was great, and it was really late by the time we got home.

Everything went well because we had enough bodies around protecting us. I hate it when people (men) bother me in places like that. I know some people go there for that purpose, but I just wanted to dance with the girls (Mel) and be left alone. It’s pretty much impossible unless if I have at least one or two men protecting me from the crowd. ..

4/24/07

I’m still in heaven. I slept like a happy baby, and woke up ready to work. But the crew didn’t, so I had a while to wait before we started. There are some other girls here to shoot as well, and I’m getting to know them now. This should be interesting. So far I’m impressed with about 2 of them. The rest I see mainly as entertainment. We had some breakfast, and relaxed a little. I’m still in awe of this place. It’s hard to get into much of a hurry when you’re here. Like time could go on forever. And I guess Peter, the owner, is also around here on the property. He sounds like an interesting fellow. From what I hear he’s quite the ladies man…

By the end of the day we didn’t get much done. A little work here and there, but unproductive for the most part. This is fine by me, I’m here when the crew is ready for me. There is always a lot of hurrying up to wait around. Fortunately I’m able to wait in my fantastic room, or by the ocean in my bikini, which is also my wardrobe. Always ready, that’s me…

I met a sweet girl. Would be lonely without some kind of a friend. She’s beautiful, but still nice. Rare to find in these situations. She also lives in LA. Maybe this trip won’t be so bad after all.

4/23/07

I hate commercial airplanes. I flew on Spirit Airlines to get here, and it was by far the most uncomfortable flight ever. My seat didn’t recline, which is the worst thing possible on a six hour flight, and everything sucked. I won’t get into the details, just trust me that I’ve never been so relieved to land in a foreign country. At the airport I was told that my driver was on the way, but after a trip like this the last thing I wanted to do was to wait some more. But he finally arrived, and the drive was beautiful. When we arrived at our final destination I was shocked by the pure beauty. I’ve been lucky enough to have seen some of the most beautiful homes and properties in the country, but this absolutely took my breath away. Naygard Cay is the name of the place, and it’s about as close to heaven as I’ve ever been. It’s the private home of Peter Naygard, the famous clothing designer, and I’ve been told of the few hundred million it cost him to put it together. The estate is on the beautiful blue Bahamian water with a white sand private beach, and it has about 10 bedroom suites.

I had to explore the property immediately, and found myself lost within five minutes. He designed the home on the side of a rock cliff, and there aren’t many walls to close you in. From almost every point in the “house” you can look in any direction and believe that you are standing outdoors. Few walls, a lot of floor to ceiling glass, and it’s all sitting over the water. My bed literally sat over the water, hanging from a chain connected to a rock cliff above. And he has pet peacocks walking around to welcome the guests.

Am exhausted. I need sleep before I start shooting tomorrow. Wish the peacock would be quiet so I could rest.

4/22/07

Today I went back to LA from Vegas. The flight was easy, got home by around noon. I had to go run around town and pick up a few things, like my dry cleaning, before I have to leave town at midnight. I’m flying to the Bahamas for a shoot. Gonna be there for a week. Sounds really great, but I always hate being gone for so long. And I don’t really know anybody else there. When women pack for a long trip we always think of a million little things we absolutely have to have to make the trip. So I hit the local drug store for the minor things like razors, cotton balls, moisturizer, and all of those things that act as filler for the enormous suitcase I’m dragging across the globe with me.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/21/07

Am in Vegas. Makes me remember why I love this place! Usually when people, people my age especially, say they love Las Vegas it’s because of the obvious reasons. Drinking, parties, half naked women, and freedom to do as we please and not be bothered. I like all of those things too, but I can have that stuff every day in my life in LA, so Vegas I reserve for poker. I don’t drink if I’m playing, and I’m almost always playing. I know the floor men pretty well in Bellagio, and they all know me really well. I put up a tough front in the main room because people try to get really friendly when I let on that I recognize them. And when you have a few hundred men being too friendly it’s not always fun. So, the games were good. Pretty much broke even, and had to make a short trip of it. But the games were really juicy, and I knew most of the people there . Am hoping to return quickly.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/20/07

Had a court date today for some personal stuff. Was in and out of there pretty quickly. But that whole court house kinda creeps me out. Makes me think about all of the problems people have, and what they have to do to fix them. People never look friendly there.

Lately I don’t have a lot going on with work. Not too many auditions, and actual work is slow. I’m enjoying it for now though. Everything usually hits all at once in this business. Not many people in this town are honest. If you ask them how work is going, work meaning acting/modeling, they will either lie and say they are so busy they can’t stand it, or that they haven’t done anything for months. In either case it’s rarely true. “So busy” usually means busy with auditions, or busy trying to figure out why they aren’t working. And “Nothing in months” usually means they’ve been working the crap jobs that don’t pay hardly anything, they’re trying to network by working cheap, and they don’t want to talk about it. Hence, my theory about liars in Hollywood. Few people are honest about this industry, which is probably the best practice for the trade. Act like an actor, even if you’re not a very good one.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/17/07

Today is just another day in paradise. I slept in a little, worked online, then went to the ocean. I’ve started a new workout routine outdoors, and I’m seeing a result pretty quickly. The weather is still a little too chilly for me, but once I start getting my blood flow up I warm up quickly.

I had an audition this afternoon. Nothing too major, but the audition was fun. It’s funny to me that this city is huge, but I always see the same people. A lot of the girls all audition for the same kinds of things, so it’s almost like a community in a way. And the ones of us who are secure with ourselves have fun with it. We check up on each other, and remember names. The girls who have jealousy issues or insecurity issues can’t stand to see familiar faces.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/13/07

Today is my best friends birthday! We just hung out then went out for a great dinner. I can stay on a pretty strict diet, until I go to Morton's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills. Yummy. We ate way too much, but it was worth it. Birthdays are so much fun to me, except for my own. I never thought it would bother me to grow old, but I enjoy life so much that I want it to last forever. Anyways, Morton's rocks. That’s the lesson for today.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/9/07

I went for a long bike ride today. Am feeling the need to work out more than I have been. The weather is really great right now so I’m trying to take advantage of it. After that I came home and played poker online for a while. Did really well today, made a little money… By the end of the night I was passed out on the couch with a book in my hands. My eyes just couldn’t stay open any longer. Today was very easy and comfortable. Nothing too exciting going on. But I like that now and then. The only bad part of it is that I don’t have anything crazy to write about. I could go into detail about the bike ride and how good the wind felt thru my hair, but that isn’t too interesting to anyone but me.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/7/07

I had to wake up early this morning to shower and get ready for my big day at the Mr. Asia USA competition. Showering was almost painful because of the massive hangover I had from last nights sushi. I know all of the good places to go for sushi around here. I had way too much sushi and sake both.

So I got myself beautified and headed over to the Beverly Hilton. Was a total waste of my day. I love doing volunteer work for charities, but I don’t enjoy being taken advantage of. The best part of my day was the glasses of wine. I can’t even go into detail about how many things went wrong with the presentation.

I guess I’m spoiled from working with some of the best professionals in the industry, so when I have to work with people like this it sucks. Lucky for them I’m a sweet person, even when I’m mad as hell, so I didn’t get mean. I pulled it off, thanks to my co-host, and got out of Dodge asap. Which was 2am. So my hangover lasted about 16 hours total. But I looked fantastic. Had the hair, the makeup, the ultra low cut slinky dress… and I was completely surrounded by gay Asian men. All in all the night was a flop, and we probably looked kinda ridiculous up there, but by the end of the night I didn’t care much. I just wanted to be at home in my big bed.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/6/07

Some people out here just have way too much money in their pockets. This morning I met some of the money behind two films I’m thinking about working on. These two guys are in their early twenties, and they’re both billionaires. Good looking, rich, young,… Every man they meet must hate them. And they’re Australian, so they’ve got the accent to go with the rest of it. But honestly, I wasn’t impressed with them as people. I was only impressed that they are putting 20 million dollars up for movies they’ve only been told about. Makes no difference to me, as long as I’m working. From that meeting I rushed through Beverly Hills over to Hollywood for my next meeting. Had to re-write my script for the Mr. Asia USA with my co-host. I didn’t have a spare minute to eat anything, so all I could think about was my plans for sushi later.

And, as always, the sushi held up to the fantasy… Had half a bottle of sake as well. In California you can almost always guarantee that the sushi will be fresh, and the people are gonna be hot. We pay a high price to live here, and sometimes you’re reminded why. This has to be the most entertaining place to live that I’ve ever heard of. Going to bed, have to get up early in the morning.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/5/07

I woke up this morning and just had to go rollerblading. It’s a great workout, and I leave there feeling refreshed. I have the greatest schedule. Sometimes I feel like I’m forgetting to do something, but there really isn’t anything I have to do. I’m spoiled in so many ways. But I work hard for it.

So I went home and showered, then I relaxed and read a book for a while. I’m reading “The Unbearable Light of Being.” I hardly ever watch TV when I’m alone. I’m usually on my laptop, sometimes sitting in Starbucks, or I’m on my couch reading a good book.

--------------------------------------------------------

4/3/07

I’ve been missing my flying time a lot lately, so I decided to just go fly around for no reason. I rented a small Cessna, and flew over to Long Beach. The weather was perfect, and I liked the plane I rented. Takeoff was smooth, and within minutes I was looking down at the Queen Mary in the Pacific. A lot of pilots use the Queen Mary as a landmark so we know where we are in the pattern. I didn’t stay up too long, just long enough to go out over the practice area over the water. I considered flying out to Catalina Island, but it’s a long flight alone, and the runway is kinda tricky there. So I landed back in Long Beach, and it was a perfect landing even though there was about a 10kt cross wind. I drove back to my home and had some lunch, then I relaxed. I love doing spontaneous things like this with my free time. I know I’m only going through this life one time, so every day is an adventure. I talked to my really good friend Brian today. He’s my favorite photographer. I turned down the opportunity to shoot for Playboy, and Brian was one of the reasons I decided it might not be a good idea. He has been responsible for many of the covers for that magazine over the years, but these days I just don’t think they pay enough. And I don’t want to sign my life away.

I stopped by my agents office to chat about a few things, and my favorite photographer and I met up for a quick exchange of slides from my most recent shoot. (Brian is responsible for some of the hot photos on my site…. Like the ones without a top on, so you can thank him for that!)

--------------------------------------------------------

4/2/07

Today has been really wonderful. I slept great last night, and got up this morning ready to play some poker online. Lately I’ve been playing on Full Tilt, but now I’m set up on Poker Stars. It’s hard to get used to the layout of the new site, but I like the games. I’ve been playing the 10/20 no limit game, and yeah, I’ve been killing it… Also my new thing lately is the sit & go’s. You know, the single table satellites. I sit here with my hot tea and some good chocolate, and just take all the money I can from those boys. It might bother them a little that I’m a girl. And they have to know that I am because I use my real name as my screen name.

So, anyways, today has just been poker, and a trip to the grocery store. I bought myself some flowers today. It cheers me up so much to have some daisies in my living room.

The other thing I thought about today while I was playing in my online game is that a lot of women look kinda sloppy when they’re at home just hangin out. Not me. No way. My philosophy is that I never know when unexpected company might drop in, or someone might be spying on me through my window… so I always try to look cute. I wear the cutest little comfy outfits, usually with some big fuzzy white boots to keep my feet warm. I always match. So when I’m taking the money from the guys on Poker Stars, they don’t have to think about it as some ugly girl at home who learned to play from her husband or something like that. If they knew the truth they might not mind loosing to me so much…

--------------------------------------------------------

4/1/07

I had a photo shoot today up in the Hollywood Hills. Had a hard time finding the place with all of the curvy roads and huge mansions, but I finally found it. My makeup girl was sweet, and talented, and my photographer was already there waiting. It was a beautiful day, just a very slight breeze, and we actually finished early. Normally something takes longer than it should and we finish late, but today everything went very smoothly. I shot mostly lingerie today. Some swimwear also. The photographer was really fantastic.

If I had my way I would only shoot lingerie and swimwear. I don’t think that clothes photograph as well on me. I like to show a lot of skin. I’m the most comfortable when I have skin showing.

So, we finished the shoot and I went home to change clothes and go out for sushi. I had not eaten anything all day and I started feeling a little weak. But dinner was really great, and sleep was even better. After a long day I always look forward to a hot shower and comfy clothes, a good book, a big glass of wine, and my bed.
